Not a good deal since it doesn't come with "All-In" (Lifetime) service. So, you'd also have to pay a monthly subscription fee with this one.

Not sure I follow your logic. In either case you have a base cost of the equipment. This is a good deal for that. Now, which service option is a better deal is another discussion entirely.

Don't use splitters. Instead use inline attenuators at each cable wall outlet that drops the signal strength right before going into the tivo. They come in all different decibels

When is the Roamio OTA with lifetime service going to be on sale again? It was $100 off back in March and June. My Sage TV system is starting to die.

That's exactly what I am waiting for. Missed that 299 deal and my subscription is ending in October and I no longer have cable. So don't want to pay a monthly fee any longer.

Got the Refurb regular Roamio (NOT OTA) with the "ALL IN" lifetime fee over two years ago for $299 and it's been fantastic. Once you get a cable card from Comcast that works you are golden. Have 3 TiVo minis in my house over MOCA and it works flawlessly. No monthly box fees to Comcast.

I will endorse your conservative view point here.

Looks like Lifetime service is over $500, so the Roamio for $399 looks pretty decent for OTA (2 years to break even over cable box). I'd love a BOLT where you didn't have to subscribe to their service since you're getting your TV via the cable card which would have a guide already.

I don't suppose there's any way to use my lifetime Roamio service with the Bolt? I also got the Roamio OTA with lifetime service a couple of years ago, and love it. Now, if I could just connect the Bolt to it and not have to pay for separate service for the Bolt??? That would be SWEET!
