does anyone know if BF usually yields better deals on receivers? Or there's not much difference at this price point?

I paid about $220 for my Onkyo 535 - all 5 channels have banana plugs.

Paid a similar price for my new Onkyo 676 - all 7 channels have banana plugs.

so... maybe at the $150 price point this is ok. But it clearly can be done at this price.

Honestly it's always hit and miss each year. However this is probably one of the cheapest receivers that has Dolby Vision. It was $279.99 before the price drop today.

Thanks. I'm still researching which receiver I want to pair with the 5.1 polk speaker deal a couple of weeks ago. But I'm also wondering if I should jump on a deal now, or wait till BF. This unit's specs seem adequate for my current needs, but if BF has a higher-end system for just a lil bit more than this, then I would prefer that...

Check out some models on accessories4less. They'll have higher end models than this for around the same price. Most are refurbs, but they are quality. My Yamaha vx475 came exactly like new.

It really depends if you're in driving distance of a Frys. They have great in store only deals that are rarely online for the really low priced items.

WIFI would give you the option of using your phone or tablet as a wifi remote. Also you can have remote speakers in other rooms fed by the stereo.

If you want wifi, you can always go with the Yamaha RX-V483BL, on sale for $329.95 on Amazon.

You'd be better off with the TSR-5810 from Fry's. On sale this week for $229. 7.2 with Wifi, networking and Bluetooth. Plus 7.2 and 4 HDMI 2.0a plus HDCP 2.2 inputs for 4K video.
