I had them for a free month & wasn't impressed. If I'd kept it it would've cost $103 a month, lol. But hey...free is free.

For those of you looking for cool freebie I'd like to suggest Pluto TV. I just installed it earlier this week & am quite impressed. It has MANY live channels & an on-demand section as well. Totally free, they don't even ask you to make an account or give any information. They don't even want your e-mail addy.

It's $20/month, no?

We had it for about 9 months, it's fine, the only thing was ESPN games were jerky or something, it wasn't like watching ESPN on cable. Normal TV shows were fine.

We ended up dropping it cause we prefer the Hulu/Amazon combo.

The problem with streaming TV in my particular Chicago suburb is that xfinity/Comcast is literally the only provider of Internet above 10mb speed, and to pay them for just internet makes it as or more expensive than their bundle prices.

I'm curious about their service and will most likely try the free 7 day offer as well. I just figured a free day should really stress their systems and that should be their worst case scenario for network load.

Rep given for review. How long ago did you use them?
I remember checking out Sling last year in terms of what they offered, not actual use, and decided against it for a reason I do not recall.

I felt the same way about DirecTV Now earlier this year but got pulled in again with the Roku premier they were "giving away" and they got much better... Meh if it's truly no CC then I'll give them another shot.

Apropos, Be careful with these "free trials" with apps on your Roku account.
I don't really use ours and I was only told second hand about the following but I have no reason to not believe her as even though my better half will absolutely lie to me when it's convenient but she has no reason to when it comes to the credit cards as everything I make, she know she can have without question "for service above and beyond the line of duty" i.e. the kids...
Got hit on the credit card, with Vudu once and a "free trial" of Hulu which, she was correct, she never entered the credit card. However, at some point, someone linked the credit card to the Roku account for , as they explained to me, "our convenience" and apps can make charges to it...
The rest of the family loves the Roku experience and that's fine but crap like this is absolutely why I'm a die hard Chromecast/Miracast guy.

P.S. Anyone here not living in CONUS or has used Sling internationally? I'm not terribly excited about this offer but have some family abroad that have terrible TV options and this would be great if it's relatively equivalent to Sling US content. Thanks in advance

Appreciate the suggestion for Pluto TV. Thank you. Had not heard much about this option. Started to explore further.

Curious if Pluto TV created intrusive advertising problems for you/others? This link concerned me:

I'm curious about the 103. I suppose that's with every single addon package and pay channel added or something? Sling was my favorite of the streaming services, but the wife demanded ID, so we have Playstation Vue now. Vue is decent, but I'm not happy with losing like 20 channels in the past year while the price went up like 33%.

I just tried out directv and it seems alright but the price is just too crazy. I wish I hadn't missed the $35/month promo when they started

I have sling and am not impressed works okay during the week for the most part but when I'm trying to watch the games on Saturday it just lags and fails to load last straw was this last weekend couldnt watch the last half of the Alabama game had to watch it on our tablet via the ESPN app. Going to be trying out the free trial for the ps vue service.

ps. called cs about the interruption and all they could say was that it was a glitch in the system and they would look into it via app update in the future... wasn't impressed with their lack of urgency about it.

It's a good service but it doesn't work well with Chromecast... They offer a free Roku with 2 month prepay...
