Uhhh no. No one should ever "buy" membership for 5% deal.
Expedia, Travelocity etc all offers discounted 'things to do' section, including Groupon. With Groupon, they have coupon codes you can use on top of already reduced price.

Online only membership for 1 year only costs $10. That's all you need.

I find the normal discount with Entertainment gives you about $10 off of deals I find on travel sites, before the 5 precent even.
