We'll take $135 off your ticket

Right now, when you book your flights to Australia with Qantas, we'll cover the cost of your new passport.* That's $135 off your booking, per person, on all eligible flights. Why?

Because we heard quite a few people don't have a valid US passport. And since we're not your typical airline, we'd like to do something about that. Don't worry if you already have one, you can still enjoy the discount! Consider it a contribution towards your next one.

Steps to redeem:
Begin your journey at
Enter the promo code "PASSPORT"
Search and select your desired flights then checkout. Airfares displayed will have discount of $135 already applied.

Important information
Disclaimer: * Passport cost is calculated based on the combined total of the application fee ($110) and execution fee ($25) of an adult first-time applicant for a passport book in the United States. Information correct as at 15 September 2017 and published at external site in a new window. Qantas Airways will provide a discount of $135 on any advertised adult or child fare to Australia in any class of service, however infant fares and frequent flyer redemption travel are not eligible. Discount will apply for each passenger on eligible fares purchased between 19 October 2017 and 28 November 2017. All currency is quoted in USD. To be eligible for this offer, booking must be made at and the code 'PASSPORT' entered. Even if you already have a valid US passport, Qantas will honor the discount provided the process above is followed. After entry of code, total price will display with discount applied and taxes included for the least expensive itinerary. Prices may change at any time and are not guaranteed until payment is made. Offer valid until 28 November 2017 and is only available on tickets originating and purchased in the United States. Discount is not transferable, redeemable for cash and cannot be combined with any other offer. isn't this discrimination?

oh wait a sec... they don't check to see if you actually are a US citizen, do they? then I guess it's all good.

i sort of like the angle this marketing promo is taking. i'm sure others may take offense for one thing or another--but i like how they're trying to overcome the barrier for most people to travel to australia. just went 6 months ago thanks to slickdeals and chase sapphire points--and it was a lovely time.
