Which is opposite of what the first poster said, so he indeed had it switched. He said 110up/10down. You'll have a hard time finding a connection with that high an upload and that low a download.

I'm be inclined to think so. I bought one on Prime Day and it was the crappy v2 which you can't DDWRT as you said, but I didn't realize til after the 30 days. Now I just use it as an expensive switch.

I bought this one I believe last year at Best Buy for $129 It's been trouble free. Recently converted a shed into a man-cave approx. 75 feet from the house and I suffer no loss of signal out here. I pair this with an Arris Surfboard modem (you can get at Costco or elsewhere for around $80,( sometimes refurbs here at SD for as low as $25 on the modem) For this price I think this would be a slick purchase.bounce

~110 Mbps download and ~10 Mbps upload? Think you might have that switched.

I assume this is NETGEAR R6700v2 and not R6700? And my understanding is DDWRT can't be install in R6700v2 because the original R6700 use Broadcom chip while R6700v2 use MediaTek chip?

Just switched my internet service and had been keeping an eye on this router... Grabbed a CM500 modem w/ additional $10 coupon as well. These prices may be beat for BF but I need it now and stacked with 20% Amex this is a pretty slick deal.

Thanks!

Well my old Linksys N seems to be dying (maybe 7 years old).

I went in on this. I like the reviews about speeds and WiFi coverage.

Thanks OP

I have the Nighthawk ac1900...truly error free since day one. Been using it for 4 months. Its paired with the Netgear CM 500 modem on Comcast. Great router...love netgear equipment. I even have a few Netgear Power line over Ethernet adapters on my network...excellent stuff.
