Depends on the size of your room and your listening need.
There are a lot of people on this forum (especially knightshade), who are really strong proponents of this subwoofer. But it all depends on your need and your budget.

Unless you're in a broom closet, no, it's not overkill.

Remember- you can always turn a better/bigger sub down in a smaller space and it'll remain excellent.

You can't turn a tiny crap sub up in a bigger space and have it not suck.

This is a real no-crap $800 subwoofer as far as performance.... very comparable to an SVS PB-2000, and only a small notch down from some of the $1000-ish dollar subs from Hsu and PSA.

It was by far the best bang for the buck in subs at $400ish, and still is at $489.... (the cheapest the PB2000 ever gets is ~650 for comparison, and that's uncommon)

In anything up to a 2500-3000 cubic foot space it'd be excellent... if you've got a significantly bigger space I'd suggest getting two.

And FWIW- I'm using a PB2000 (which again is comparable to this thing) with exactly that setup... 2 FS52s, 1 CS22, and 4 BS22 bookshelves, in a secondary audio setup in my house (in about an 1800 cubic foot room) It's terrific.

+1 for this, I'm running those speakers and while waiting for months for a deal on this sub I caved and bought a bic f12 to hold me over. Though at this price point I'm not biting and will eventually spend the extra coin for a pb2000. Not that $500 is not money well spent for this sub, but I personally feel $400 made it a true slickdeal and justifiable over the pb2000. Also in my case the copper colored sub doesn't suit my area too well.

Has anyone ever had luck pricematching these promo code deals to bestbuy, abt.com, bhphoto.com etc? I do not live near a frys and I know if it is available for shipping it will only be available for the first several minutes or so

I pulled trigger on the AAFES SALE of the Klipsch R-110SW for $159 delivered. Now, you know how much the fat pigs are making Profit on this. Even at the lower price there stillness profits on the table.

Newbie here...
Can someone please tell me how a pair of these R115SW would compare to a single Rythmik FV15HP ($1300) in terms of sound? Thanks!!!

Same here if it ever goes down again to ~$400 with wireless, I'll definitely buy two rightaway. I bought a R12-SWi Hust to get by while waiting for tthis sub to come down.

this doesn't seem to be too slick, when it was 399 before with the wireless adapter included Frown

Those speakers are great and do demand a nicer sub like this. I'm running them with a SVS as well. Pb2000 and used to use sb2000.

If you want this better buy now they don't go on sale that often any more. Had an alert for the past 6 months. I just bough a VTF3 instead waiting for it
