Great price considering buying it at this moment for a true factory unlocked model, which will receive updates fastest straight from Samsung and no bloatwares from any carrier.

Doubt it. Note 5 still pretty expensive.

$199 Walmart clearance

(Yes I know it's dead now, but if a phone could go $200 at a major retailer in June 2017, no reason to think it cant be $300 at some point soon again)

Although I'd rather keep my Note 4 personally with its card slot and removable battery until I see $250 on the V20

I dispute this fastest part. Samsung is slower than molasses going uphill in winter.

Still on August 1 Security Patch whereas 2014 phone it replaced October. laugh out loud Branded versions are supposedly faster.

And the speaker sucks in this phone, night & day compared to antiquated nexus 6. To a lesser degree, little UI quirks 'Samsung Experience' provides that you really wish Samsung just left to Google (e. g. rigid default app prompts, slow OTG explorer, annoying navigation bar, light opaque notification drop down, lack of true nougat integration into notification center...).

Otherwise great phone if snagged under $500 under note 7 trade in deal + selling crapware bundled 360 or BOGO deals.

At least time with eBay Bucks if you buy this deal.

If there's an OS update, carriers always do this slowest.

I'm using Nexus 6 and just bought a brand-new note 8 from Craigslist for like $500. So far everything is much better than the Nexus 6 except for the lack of front dual stereo speakers.

speakers, yup. and those other things I mentioned that native nougat just does better.

Hey, that's a pretty good deal for as new as it is. Why on earth did seller sell so soon so cheap I wonder? Not too bright.... score for you.

I bought on trade in deal, net $450ish.

nexus 6 is on Oct sec patch, lol

My Nexus 6 is on 7.1.1. Thinking of making the jump to iPhone X. I wanted Pixel XL but no wireless charging is a huge deal breaker considering how convenient it is. Note 8 is perfect except updates come slowly and Samsung defecates all over it with their own stuff.

I thought about jumping over to the iPhone too, but the trade-offs (no headphone jack and wireless charging) make me hesitant to jump over. I honestly don't mind waiting several months for Samsung to update their phones (Oreo), as long as they eventually release it.

I'd pay $300 if it was available on ebay, factory unlocked or t-mo variant. not T-mo one

Still proof that $300 isn't out of the question for a note 5 sometime soon
