Yeah.. I've couple of these, they occupy both plug sockets unlike the smaller version. Still looks like a good price. Shows lowest ever on C**C**C**

Not sure. Anyone who used it with smart things can comment on it. I use it directly with Alexa (thru TP-link kasa app)

I hope they've fixed these things... I bought a 2 pack last year, and they're a little annoying.

To make a long story short, they need a pretty solid wifi signal in order to work properly. TP-Link says -70dBm or better, but I think the antennas/chips in these things are a little weak.

I have 10 of these in my house, 2 in a shed 100' away from my house, and have never had an issue. They are flawless for me.

The ones I have are from last Prime day deal, they have been working well so far with a decent internet connection, they are placed about 25-30 feet from router. I'm looking to add few more plugs, came across this deal. Having hard time finding any other plugs within this price range from a decent brand. Any suggestions?

I have these. they work perfect for me. can control by the tp app or tell alexa to turn on the light etc. never had a wifi issue with them. I got them during prime days when they were like 7bucks each.

I suspected that mine could be defective or something, but when I went to troubleshoot them with TP-Link, there wasn't much I could do since they do work when I get them under the -70dBm mark.

I know I'm not alone either. If you read through the 1-2 star amazon reviews, a lot of people say the same thing as me. Sometimes these things work, other times they just don't work, you can't connect to them. Maybe the dissatisfied people like me have a bad batch, maybe they have multiple suppliers for the internals.

For example, my phone says -47dBm when I'm holding it directly on top of the plug... When I go into the smartplug configuration, its signal strength is -63dBm... Like I said, maybe mine are just part of a bad batch. Oh yeah, in order to connect to the plug, I had to repeatedly open and force close the kasa app, because each time I opened it, it couldn't connect to the plug. Also note the full wifi bars on my phone, and yet I'm still only -7dBm away from not being able to connect to the smartplug, by tp-link's standards.

There's no official support. There's a pretty hacky way you can do it, but I wouldn't depend on it.

There also isn't any IFTTT support, for people who wanna do more advanced things.

One foot power extension cables work well.
