One of the most common sources of early childhood poisoning is vitamin supplements, and candy/gummy types (these are gummies) are the absolutely most dangerous form. At least these do not contain iron which is something really dangerous for kids to overdose on (brain and liver damage), nor calcium which can cause heartbeat irregularities. Overdose symptoms include:

Quote :
Nausea, vomiting and stomach pain (iron)
Vision problem and clumsiness (vitamin A)
Constipation and muscle weakness (vitamin D)
Bleeding problems (vitamin E and K)
Skin flushing (vitamin B3)
Nerve damage, numbness and difficulty walking (vitamin B6)
A good article with solid guidance on this (I had to alter my initial post after reading it, I had missed a couple of items). Don't misread it and think well nothing did happen to the kids. I am quite sure the nanny made the kids spit them out so their dosage wasn't nearly as high as the "entire bottle," plus since there were two of them the max possbile overdose was roughly halved.
