I just installed one today. It's a very tight squeeze in the existing wall receptacle Works fine though.

If you got a USB type B to phone USB type C adapter (assuming it didn't work in the outlet), you could avoid buying the charger for your phone--my plan--assuming the phone doesn't already come with one. ((1)These USB outlets are showing a 50% failure rate per Costco's reviews. I bought two 2-packs. If two work, great, I can get my refund on the ones that don't. [When I first bought one USB outlet a year ago, it was $35. Costco's $20 for two is a huge bargain.] If all four work, great! I do my own installing.(2) For those who don't know, a type C can be flipped either way. There is no little rectangular bar in the connector so that it must go in only one way.)
Just remember, check your electrical box first that the outlet must fit in. If it's the old small one, it is hard as heck to get these outlets in. Also, unless you know what you're doing electrically, don't be floored if you pull the original outlet, and it has more than simple wires to tinker with. And if you go with an electric pro, just remember, if the outlet doesn't work, the pro still needs to be paid.
**Apple products will NOT work; there is no adapter). Apple likes forcing it's customers to buy its stuff (proprietary).Frown

Why would you need an adapter?

It's hard to explain tech stuff when you can't show it.
It's like if you try to charge your phone using your car. Normally, you put the USB portion of your phone cord into an "adapter" so that you can put it in a lighter or, if your car is a state-of-the-art car, just plug it into the USB female port, in which case, you don't need an adapter.
So, the adapter I'm trying to describe is one you would need so that a state-of-the-art phone, which has a male USB type C plug and cannot go into a USB type B receptacle, could to function. When you could use a phone charger (you know, the cord and brick to charge it?) and plug it into a regular bladed outlet, OR you could get an adapter for your phone's cord, assuming the male end part of the line IS a USB type C, so you can use the USB female port of the USB outlet from Feit. If there isn't an adapter available yet, there will be, toot-sweet.
Sadly, Feit has, as of today, has not put the USB outlet descriptors on their website so that buyers can sort out the particulars. I expect that at some point, Feit will add them to their bulbs and whatnot already on the site.
If this isn't clear to you, and you still don't understand, just don't buy the outlets. There is too much about physical compatibility that I don't know, but for those curious, go to a website called Livewire and check out "USB compatibility." I'm just tryin' to help.

Ah, so you mean a USB A to USB C cable? That's a regular cable folks use with regular chargers.
