any garage door experts on here that can comment on which is good? which can be tied into home automation like smartthings?

I heard that screw drive isn't good for places with temp fluctuation but this Genie one has a lot of good reviews.

I thought smartthings did away with the myQ support?

I install garage doors and openers for a living. it looks like the only one that can be integrated into a smart home out of the box is the Genie StealthDrive 1-1/4 HP Belt Drive Garage Door Opener. All the chamberlain ones sold here require the myQ gateway adapter to make them sync with a smart home. Despite what the website says, the MyQ internet gateway should be compatible with the HD210 as well. Ill be buying a couple of these to stock up my truck. Thanks for the deal!

Don't recommend Chamberlain.

Want Home Kit support? Prepare to dish out another $50. Want IFTT support? Prepare to pay a monthly subscripton fee.

My problem isn't really that we have to pay to have these features. It's that they promised free upgrade/support when the features were ready. It turned out to be quite the opposite when they decided to monetize the heck out of the home automation realm.

I hope one of their competitors will figure out how to take advantage of the areas where Chamberlain falls short.

Does anyone think there will be better deals on Black Friday? I've never had to buy a garage opener before. Trying to find the best deal. I can wait until Black Friday, but don't wanna Miss this deal if there's not a better deal. Obviously, no one will know a for sure answer. Just looking for experience answers

And they have. Just get an add-on controller [newegg.com] that offers home automation integration, IFTTT and Echo without the subscription fee.

Indeed... Though with total of under 200 reviews, no individual review can organically get 800+ up-votes. Most older 1 star reviews here got up-votes in hundreds. This doesn't match ebay and newegg reviews for the same item.

Since you install garage doors for a living, hope you don't mind a couple of questions. My garage door works fine but my remotes quit working. Changed the batteries, tried reprogramming, bought a new remote, they all do nothing. I have a Genie ProMaxx2 installed new in 2008. Thinking it needs a new motherboard, had that changed out a few years ago. Considering buying a new opener. Would be nice to have one that I can use with an app on my phone to check if I forgot to close it. Any suggestions? Are any of the ones listed a good deal? TIA

You can always buy one and hold on to it until BF. If a better deal comes along return the one you bought. If you use Discover card they will price match and refund the difference. As for the deal in this thread, not seeing a lot of enthusiasm for it.

Thanks for sharing. This seems like a much better deal with the my q. Wish sams had the same great return policy as costco.
Now need a deal on installation.

I would be concerned about your motherboard as well. sometimes when an opener loses power, it will reset the remotes but if you are sure that you are reprogramming the remotes correctly and you are sure the new remotes you purchased are compatible with your opener then motherboard is the only possible answer. It is generally a better idea to purchase a new opener than to replace a motherboard. quality wise chamberlain beats out genie openers any day of the week. if it were my garage i would get a belt drive that has the myq included. Like this one... https://www.amazon.com/Chamberlai...p?ie=UTF8.

If you are looking for top of the line, the Liftmaster 8550 is hard to beat. you can get the head unit on amazon, but you will need to find a wholesaler who will sell you the rail.
