1) This monitor does have freesynch however it only goes to 65 or 70hz depending on who you believe. The HP Omen goes to 75hz.

2) Be sure your video card can handle 2560x1440 @ 60hz. My 650ti boost works flawlessly with this monitor

3) This monitor uses a VA panel which have better blacks than IPS panels

4) Great size and resolution for non gaming....very easy to get and read two web pages or 4 divide the screen into 4 independent smaller windows.

5) I am an occasional gamer...I don't have the very latest games that require top end video cards/monitors and I've never seen any ghosting or other artifacts.

Definitely is nice that it is a 32". It being a VA is a turnoff though due to generally lower picture quality, but still nice, especially with "some" overclocking. If this was G-Sync I'd be all over it (granted, G-Sync would never drop this low, but one can dream). The 7ms response time is questionable, considering that this is a VA panel, which generally has better response times than IPS. Pretty great overall though, especially the size.

Edit: my bad, I mistakenly confused VA panels with TN. VA is a nice middle ground, but still an IPS would make this an even more superb deal.

"Writing" from this monitor I bought the other day refurb for ~$200.

Liking its screen real estate with normal dpi. As OP said - comfortably holds two windows side by side. Also photos look very good.

My monitor in fact is like new, no defects. The seller literally have a ton of them. Like 400+. I suspect they are just all new. Sold currently ~$230 on ebay. One can wait for 8% ebay discount days, I think.

HP omeb 32" 1440p QHD is going to be $250 at Costco Nov 23rd-27th according to the Costco ad that just came out today.
Is that the same as this monitor? And do you think it's worth the wait?

Close but different omen is 5ms 75hz this is 7ms 60hz. Have omen 32 and loving it(got it for 150 on Craigslist). Freesync is really something else. I thought it was gimmick but its not.

And they're both TN monitors right? I've been wondering how much of a difference TN and IPS really is. Maybe I'll jump on the Costco one when it comes out. Thanks!

I picked up 2 of the Omen's last year - will probably pick up 2 more this year; very happy with them. The only potential negative is the lack of internal speaker.

Can you point me to the ad? I would like to get a couple more of these monitors. Hopefully, the $25 off $250 costco.com coupon will work as well.

It's on their holiday black Friday ad they handed out in store, I think they mailed me one too. I'm not sure how to find it online

Thanks! I guess I should have read the book instead of leaving it in the cart! Smilie

Here is the online version.
