Vantrue makes some surprisingly nice quality dash cams imo. Have the updated N2 and picture quality/features are great for the money.

2nd this, only flaw I've found is that my buttons on the bottom of my n2 rattle in the dashcam housing. Does yours do this? It's quite loud under heavy acceleration especially.

Honestly I never noticed it. Probably varies from car to car depending on your vibration dampening.

Worst dash cam ever.
It didn't hold charge and kept turning off by itself. Customer service is in china. Your response will take a day.
Firmware needed to be updated constantly. Return/exchange was a painful experience. I paid $150 a year ago... No wonder why they are dropping the price... Trying to get rid of defective product.

Sorry, wasn't trying to be negative, but I have no positive things to say about this dash cam... don't buy and save your time

Is this the updated/upgraded model?

I have the R2 currently and while the image quality is great, it does seem to suffer from poor overall quality after prolonged use (I've had it for about a year and the thing is falling apart).

I don't even know what the upgrades entail but I'd prefer whatever is the newest of the two.

Honestly for anyone considering this one. At $57 I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better dash cam.

Do not buy. Have 2 of them. Both aren't saving some of the recordings.

What would you all suggest as a replacement to G1W? Mine seems to be dying finally. I liked the video quality of G1W, but issues with not saving some of the videos made me look towards something else for the next dashcam...

You might need to replace internal battery- once it is a couple years old it doesn't hold enough of a charge to properly save/shutdown before losing power so the last file is corrupted. Pretty easy fix if you Ave a soldering iron and the replacement battery is only a couple dollars on eBay

I have this cam hardwired for about 2yrs now in NYC weather. Holds up perfectly fine, I only remove the SD card to gather the files so I have not experienced the corrupt file issue. If you're moving the cam around from car to car it'll prob have the battery issue but for hardwired it'll perform as stated. Good quality at a decent price.

Thanks, but there are at least 2 more issues with my G1W - power adapter died recently, and, most importantly, it doesn't overwrite files, so I have to format SD card at least every few days. I tried updating the firmware and changing SD card, but it seems to be a hardware issue. So the bottom line - it looks like it is time for it to go Smilie

It's not the upgraded. And Amazon only says the upgraded adds GPS capability if you buy the GPS mount. While the N2 upgraded says it has better material to withstand higher heat. Based on Amazon.

Absolute trash.....turns off randomly and sometimes won't turn on with car. Spend more for something reliable.

Interesting that the SD community has such polar opposite reviews.

I'm not sure what to do now...
