How good is it compared to the Epson Home Cinema 2150?

Not saying this isn't a good deal but anyone looking to buy a projector in 2017 really needs to take a hard look at a 4K one. Giant screens is where 4K shines the most. Optima's new 4K projector line can be had regularly for only 2,000 right now. I expect to be able to find them for about 1500 on a deal next year. They also support the wide color gamut and HDR.

If you mean Wireless HDMI, then there are usually kits for that you buy additional. I dont recall any high end projectors with normal wifi built into them. I think I seen some cheapo brands with it though, but those are the really poor resolution projectors.

A lot better the picture quality is just slightly under the top of the line home theater 3900 model.

This is $800 and it will still be amazing looking for any room. Only 2k is still almost 3 times the price of this projector.

If I recall they do not take returns. I am not 100% positive though.

No returns. Only replacement if the PJ does not work or has issues

Really surprised that this got this little love, this in my opinion should have been a FP deal. You will never find a projector with horizontal and vertical lens shift for this cheap with this high end of a feature set. Especially since they list a 2 year warranty on it from Epson.

Anyone who received it can tell me what the condition of the projector was? How much of bulb life was left?

I am also looking at Epson 2150 for $700 (new). How does that compare with this refurbished one. I have been also trying to understand why these are 2X heavier than Epson 2150/2040 etc?

Guessing heavier plastic for the shell, better cooling hardware which is why its very quiet, probably a very ridged metal frame on the inside, and lens shift hardware. To make up the weight difference.

Just bought the pseudo 4K Epson 4040 and hooked it up last night. Used to have an an Epson 2045. The picture quality is head and shoulders above the old projector. My dealer does a lot of business with Epson and involved with project innovations and he said there are no plans for actual 4K projectors from Epson in the works. My wife an kids were blown away, the quality is really that much better. On a 120" screen you can sit as close as 6' away and not see a pixel, we sit 10' away and it's so good that we won't be going to the theater anymore.

We demoed the 3100 in the showroom and it's very impressive for 1080P. It's also a major improvement over the 2045. The dealer highly recommended it. If I were in the market for 1080P projector, I would take the refurb 3100 over the 2045 or equivalent any day.
