Ideapad is the worst laptop I used. The whole laptop is made of toy plastic. Mine overheated so badly the plastic melted at the bottom. I can show the picture upon request. Thinkpad is much better, however.

Definitely not due to intel graphics. Do a quick google search for more on it.
Seems like a decent work / productivity laptop though.

I purchased this one for about a year for few dollars more in Adorama. You could check SD's deal history for this one. I have to say this one has no overheating issue at all. And entire body is made of Mg-Al ALLOY. Ideapad does have a lot of low end computers but this one is not what you said. Please do not make absolute comments on the things you haven't actually see, thanks :p

I'd like to see a picture please. Are you sure it was the same model as this? I want to suggest this for a relative but if its going to melt... probably not.

Why do they sell it $100 cheaper on ebay, compared to their own site? Larger crowd perhaps? But why keep their website version more expensive?

You got a link to an XPS with 8gb ram, 256 SSD?
The cheapest one I found is still almost double the price of this one.

Check the Dell outlet store. There is an XPS with 8GB and 256GB SSD certified refurb for 732. Granted it's i5 but 7th gen and hardly any difference compared to the i7 6560. 5% perf difference at most, really doubt you will notice. Also you can apply referral coupon for 5% and/or other coupons, the recent sale actually had 15% off xps but i doubt that's available now. Maybe dell gift card from raise. You should be able to get it down to this price all said and done. I purchased a refurb XPS recently and it came looking brand spanking new, and 1 year warranty. Hope this helps you.
