I've had the 50H8C (Spouse broke it with a bamboo ninja staff) And the 55H8C (7 year old broke it with the remote)

I literally just put them on Craigslist for free/parts and came to SD to see what was out there for TV deals.

Obviously it is time to pick up the 65H8C so I can break it with some as of yet unidentified implement.

I was happy with both sets - however the opera web browser (Almost worthless) and general lack of quality apps is a major drawback.

This model is still current
It does do HDR "lite" and does have a 10 bit panel

However...don't expect it to look like a TV of twice the price as it cant get bright enough

But...IMO..you are not going to find anything better than this in a 65" for $799

Reviews seem great. Has a good amount of inputs. Price is ok decent too but might as well wait for Black Friday.

What's HDR10 and what does this have then?

Perhaps I'm subconsciously a TV racist, but I see Hisense and I steer clear. Anybody have a positive experience? Cuz HDR at that price is tempting
I'm with cpar, well known brand snob

Vizio e series is shit compared to this, you can't compare this tv to the other smaller size models in the 8 series as they upgraded the panel in this compared to the smaller ones and the review sites all have the 55" one as the test model. This tv is great for the price.

I've had this TV since February and there are some good and bad things about it.
Bad - No HDR with built in apps, Hisense says it's coming in a firmware update, but I'm still waiting. Also, Opera is awful.
Good - Awesome for the price, I got mine for $725 and you just can't beat the price vs performance. 4K Blu Rays look so good using my Xbox One S. Sure you can get a Sony or Samsung that may look a bit better, but they are double the price. I'd rather spend the extra on a nice Dolby Atmos sound system.

I feel your pain. My son just broke the LCD onMad my SONY 65" 4K HDR TV with a toy. XBR-65X850D. Will be mounting my TV to the wall moving forward...

I know that the 65 inch version of the h8c is different than all of the smaller sizes. from previous threads, people seem to love their 65h8c's

Apologies for this being off-topic but where have all the 70 inch TV deals gone recently? I'm not seeing many models posted and very few models at Best Buy / Costco, etc. I recall seeing some 70 inch models in the $1,000-$1,300 range and am hoping a few deals pop up around Black Friday. Seems like the sweet spot now is the 65 inch size just like this deal (and the other TCL deal recently posted).
