Very good price for refurb...a third of reg price and half the sale price at best buy...which begs the question...why not get 2 and pair them for stereo sound? I understand from reviews the lone unit is very good, but to achieve ideal sound and clarity, must adjust xbass and eq from app depending on volume...but when paired/synced they are supposed to be incredible...can connect up to 10 of the new Sony models...at this price, that could be a party to remember...

I have the old Sony SRS-X2 and the JBL Charge2. The JBL Charge2 has way better bass, but the Sony SRS-X2 has an overall better quality and clarity sound. I find myself going back and using the Sony SRS-X2 more than the JBL Charge2.

So tempted to get 2 of these. Would probably be better than the JBL charge 3 that I'm considering. Just don't know if I can get over that it doesn't charge over microusb

That's a good point. I didn't even noticed that it charges via a round plug. My SRS-X2 charges via micro-usb. Big mistake on Sony's part to use a different charging port. Why even use a different port on a portable Bluetooth device? Mad

Classic Sony behavior. At least it isn't proprietary.

Great deal. Ordered last time for $60. Speaker arrived absolutely new like.

I had Sony xb3 and Jbl charge 3. XB30 in much better. Deeper bass, more natural sound. Only thing it's not completely waterproof.
P.S. It can be charged from USB charger via special cable with 4.0x1.7mm jack.

Search for review on Youtube.

Price jumped back up. Pretty amazing price while it lasted, way better than the current Bluetooth speaker deals going on but people didn't get behind this one for some reason.

This speaker is the perfect sweet point between the xb20 and xb40. The 20 comes off as tinny, and the 40 is twice the size without a lot more added value or battery. From the reviews I saw, this was better than the Charge 3. The biggest complaint behind it was that it changed a lot with different volume outputs (i.e. Bass or treble heavy at different volumes) so the user needed to mess around with the app to get it right. That's not a problem for me, I would rather mess with it and get it sounding great rather than not have the option and have it sound worse. Besides, I tend to leave it at a certain volume for periods at a time so this wasn't a concern for me. This speaker usually won the competitions for best in the $100-$200 class, so this was amazing deal for the price. The biggest drawback is the charger and that it's only water resistant and can't be submerged for long periods of time. The charger sucks, and definitely makes it one more cord for extended travel, but can be charged and lasts real world about 20 hours (they said 24, which is probably possible in their low power mode that halves the volume). The other drawback on this speaker is that it automatically switches to low power mode at 20% power no matter what you do.

Thanks for the deal. I was tempted to order another and run them in stereo mode (they support it with hard buttons and no fiddling), but the price jumped back up. Maybe Black Friday will deliver some better deals or the price will drop again with a new model since now these all are starting to have the demotion (2017 model) on Amazon. Sony probably has new products rolling out is my guess.
