"...half off your first month of DIRECTV NOW".

If you have had DirectTV Now before, this may not work.

I'm glad these options exist but I mean you really get bent over by your ISP. At least the last time I checked, internet is now (for a reason) the most expensive part of your cable bill when purchased separately. How are people saving money with this service if they are paying $100+ for a descent internet speed from cable/phone company.

I'm paying $95 a month including taxes for Verizon FiOS 1Gbps with landline. I haven't paid for DTV Now in 6 months due to the many free promotions they have.

OK because Xfinity in my area charges $90 + tax (so probably $110) before modem rental charges, assuming you don't buy your own. DTV says minimum fee of $35 a month so lets say a total of $150 a month. I get every Xfinity channel and internet for $165.

Another issue is Xfinity has a 1,000 gb max before they charge you $10 every 50 gb. I don't know this for sure but I have a friend that streams audio/youtube on his phone and uses about 60gb a month. What would you use if you had several tv's streaming for a few hours a day? Might exceed that amount monthly.

I guess if you can keep rolling the free promos its a good deal.

I am in Ohio in an area just taken over by Charter. I switched to a Charter plan (from a grandfathered Time Warner plan) and get 60 down and 5 up for 64.99 per month. Streaming TV services (I use PlayStation Vue) help me keep my internet/tv bills right around $100 per month. I am not on a promotion.

Yeah that sucks. I bought the modem outright from Verizon a long time ago before I was a cord cutter. Verizon has no data caps although some users from DSLReports state they may have a cap anywhere from 4TB to 10TB a month, but I doubt maybe 1% reach that a month.

I guess if you have no other options in your area, the only thing you could do is move. I'm kidding, unless it's really an option.

Thats not too bad assuming you can consistently get the 60 down. I'm assuming thats for a household that doesn't stream more than 2 tvs at once?

The connection has been reliable and typically tests at more than 60. I have streamed with 3 rokus simultaneously without problem, but usually only have 1 or two going. Big savings for us vs cable.

I'm sure I could try a lesser internet package but if we are talking a $20 monthly savings, it loses its luster IMO.

Last time instead of threatening to cancel when my cable promo was up, I just cried poverty (at the suggestion of a blog I read). I told Xfinity I was going through a tough financial time and couldn't afford to pay more for service and they just re-upped me for another 2 year promo. Totally off topic obviously.

Thanks for posting.

Here paying $30 for 35 mbps and that's plenty fast for our needs. With DirecTV Now at $35, that comes to $65/month total for 100+ channels. Seems much better deal than my previous cable TV package.

locked into the grandfathered go big but it really tests my resolve. Mostly from peak traffic congestion and football was pretty crummy yesterday. What good is a $1500 4K HDR TV when you feed it this crappy stream? I can live with a little buffering but I miss my HD DVR and consistent HD picture.

I don't factor in the broadband cost, that's like water and power, got to have it anyway. $40/40MB DSL.

I'm on the $25/month plan (have ATT phone lines) and it's been great. The service does lag occasionally, but overall much better than paying $100/month for cable.
