Very nice looking watch. I'm in the market for a Citizen, I just keep hearing lackluster things re: Joma. Thanks for posting though.

What's the Bluetooth for? I couldn't find any explanation in the description.

The Eco-Drive Proximity Pryzm requires zero wires or plugs for charging. Powered by light, the Eco-Drive Proximity, is a smarter watch for the tech-savvy consumer with Bluetooth compatibility to iOS and Android. The Proximity Pryzm features a perpetual calendar, 12/24-hour time, dual time, alarm, power reserve, light level indicator, time and date sync. Additional capabilities include phone search/filter, visual/vibration alerts and more!

From what I can gleam it is a dumb smartwatch, with the Bluetooth connected it will vibrate when you get calls or messages.

Yea I was reading the manual to try to figure out what the BT does..

It also syncs time with the smartphone. So the time will be very accurate since phones get their time from the cell network.

Neat looking watch. This is the future for smart watches in my opinion (charge by light). If they could get a visual notification on the screen it would be all I want. If I wore my watches around the house this would be great for me since I don't usually carry my cellphone with me around the house either...

Unfortunately I don't wear my watches around the house usually, lol.

Bluetooth seems gimmicky. Won't it drain the battery? I know it's solar but still

I think Bluetooth 4.0 (if that's what this is) barely uses any draw

Nope. Solid feature. This is kind of an awesome watch

What's the point of it vibrating if the phone is already on me? It would make sense if it's a smart watch so I could quickly see the notification and respond.

If you don't feel the phone or want to turn it on full silent. If you don't want to keep phone on you. If you like to wear watches this is a nice looking watch that also has the perk of bluetooth without need for charging. Some people like myself don't care for the full on smartwatch but appreciate the middle ground that this offers.

I was about to pull the trigger on the Proximity Pryzm, but I'm one of the 85+% of users who run and Android (S8 Active) phone, and this phone does not work with Android. I love the fact that it is a watch first and a Bluetooth device as a secondary effect. As a traditional mechanical watch owner (Tag, Seiko, U-Boat, Anonimo, and Hamilton) who NEVER takes their watch off, I really wanted a solid platform that was Crystal, waterproof (not resistant), but pulled down the date time from my often pocket obstructed phone. The minor notifications are perfect for my use, as I am often in meetings or at the movies where I don't want my phone to be a distraction. So far, no one makes a solution, as to my needs of never having to take the watch off, so I'll wait to see if Citizen grows up and expands their market reach beyond the 11% of The Cult of Apple (yes, I've owned Apple products, all the way back to the original Mac Pro, and as current as the iPhone 7 128gb).
