Amazon has LG 34UC79G-B 34-Inch 21:9 Curved UltraWide IPS Gaming Monitor with 144Hz Refresh Rate for $494.90 no tax free shipping. Get 5% cash back with Discover or Amazon Prim Credit card and make it $470. If you have double cash on your Discover card like I do, then you would be practically spending $445 for this monitor which is a pretty nice deal.

This is one of the best rated ultrawide gaming monitor on the market. Even though it's not 1440p. But with 144hz refresh rate and curved IPS panel. It would provide some really good gaming experience.

Yup, it's definitely too big for 1080p so it wont look that great but for gaming I heard is not bad at all. G-sync model of this would be a great deal at this price point

27 is already a stretch for 1080p and this is 34 ultra wide.

this is an ultrawide...

huge difference between a 27" 16:9 1080p and a 34" ultrawide 1080p

This might be my Christmas gift to myself.
Wonder if any Cybermonday / BF deals will come out for this or an equal...

I have 3xDell U2410 IPS and my old 7970 just wont do new games on all 3 monitors. It should handle this resolution fine.

Anybody know if the monitor has override for 1920x1080 so that I can send a single 1080p 16:9 monitor signal to the computer and get perfect 1:1 pixel mapping with letterboxing at the hardware level?

Edit Nvm: Did the math
I used to game on 3x 1920x1200 that is 6912000 pixels.
I was thinking the 3440x1440 ultra wide would be too much but its only 4953600 pixels that is a good amount less than my current setup.

Going to 2560x1080 is 2764800 pixels not much more than a single 1920x1200 monitor for 2304000 pixels tp push.

I do not do as much productivity work these days as I used too, but I think thats a bit too much to give up.

I'll have to wait for a deal on a 34" ultrawide with this refresh rate and the 3440x1440 res.

I got this monitor and returned it because the resolution is just too low for the size. That said the image quality was good otherwise as far as color, blacks, and contrast go.
