Be aware that the Black Editions have no backplate. I've seen some severe sagging in GPUs with large coolers and no backplate. Good price though.

It's only a two fan card though, shouldn't be that bad right?

I had a card from PNY with three fans and it sagged as well. not sure if it would be a long-term problem as I only had it for 6 months but it does look a bit unsettling.

I've had the 1070 FTW version that buzzes like crazy. One good thing about EVGA cards is the fact that they're a lot lighter than ASUS/GIGABYTE cards and are less likely to sag.

I'm using Founder cards now and am actually happier with those. They're hefty and show absolutely no sag. The performance difference is also negligible. Smilie

MSI ARMOR has bad cooling. They use the same cooler for 1060-1080 Ti.

This or wait for Black Friday? With the current market, does anyone expect better pricing during Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

Prices will only get better I feel. Especially with 1070ti and if Vega ever has enough supply to sell at msrp

Last year the I was able to get the 1070 for $340 no rebate and the 1060 for $230 no rebate. I've done some reading that suggests that prices aren't coming down anytime soon. Pretty depressing climate we are in right now for PC building. RAM prices are terrible too. I think black Friday is a good bet but be aware in past years there have been deals right around black Friday that were better than actual black Friday week.

So, the black one is not sagging?

Im a noob but why does a back plate help prevent a saggy card?

A backplate provides rigid support to help mitigate the weight of the aluminium/copper heatsink and fans. I've attached an image of card sag for reference. If you want a chuckle, go to a BB or MC and look at their pre-built PCs that have a window. I've seen some gnarly curves on pricey GPUs.
