The Humble Day of the Devs Bundle 2017

Monday, Tuesday, Devsday. Day of the Devs is an annual free festival in San Francisco. Hosted by Double Fine and iam8bit, it unites the gaming and development communities to celebrate the year's indie hits (and discover new titles)! If you can't make it to the event for the music, treats, and games on November 11, fret not! We're bringing music, treats, and games to you.

Pay what you want. Normally, the total cost for these games is as much as $131. Here at Humble Bundle, though, you choose the price!

On Steam and DRM-free All of the games in this bundle are available on Steam for Windows, and some for Mac and Linux, too. Several of the games are also available DRM-free for various platforms. Pay $1 or more to access Steam keys. Please check out the full system requirements here prior to purchasing.

Support charity. Choose where the money goes – between the developers, Children's Miracle Network Hospital through Extra Life and, if you'd like, a charity of your choice via the PayPal Giving Fund. If you like the bundle or like what we do, you can leave us a Humble Tip too!

My opinion on this bundle:
Although I already have Grim Fandango, I'm excited about Full Throttle. Grim Fandango is absolutely worth a buck.

The BTA price is currently as low as I've seen it in case you got to the site late. Lowest I've seen so far is $5.98 and it started at $6.01.

First, now that IGN took over HB, should we expect any differences in how this works? Can you still lock in the BTA and add money up to 1 week after the bundle ends?

I'm surprised how steady this BTA is holding at $6. Most other bundles bounce over and under the $6 starting point in the first 15 minutes. AFAIK, it hasn't gone under $5.98, but it went near $7.50 briefly. Either few people are buying the $1 tier or IGN made $6 a floor rather than a true BTA.

Now my comments which everyone is waiting for with baited breath. NOT!

Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle RM having been repeated too many times (everyone who buys any bundles should have those by now).

Loot Rascals and TumbleSeed may be worth $1 total, but I'm not a fan of low-detail/low-texture graphics.

For another $5, I don't feel like Abzu and Flinthook are worth it because I have Abzu free on PS4 PSN+. I wouldn't mind getting it on Steam, but not for $5. Flinthook has certain "Roguelike" elements I may not like and it's low res graphics. If it were just a platformer I might have liked it.

For another $3, Everything and Full Throttle RM. Everything is just a learning/move around simulator with good graphics. The biggest annoyance I noticed is the creatures roll head over heels instead of move like normal creatures. That alone breaks any chance of "immersion" with good graphics. Full Throttle was a very good adventure game by LucasArts and the RM looks good, but is it worth paying for the top tier?

No, I feel like I should just buy the $1 tier and wait for Abzu and Full Throttle RM to end up in cheaper tiers in future bundles.

EDIT: Whoa! I just noticed this bundle is scheduled for 19 days. That's definitely a change. I can't think of any past bundle that wasn't 14 days. Does anyone know if that means new game bundles will be starting on days other than Tuesday?

Sorry Baguda, but I disagree. Having seen you comment consistently on the HB threads I find myself valuing your opinion indeed look forward to it.

I've been wanting full throttle remaster for a while now, although I don't really have the time to get to it in the near future. What is your expectation on seeing it again come up in another bundle and for less?

Given Day of the Tentacle RM has reappeared a few times, I think Full Throttle RM will start to appear more often too. I think it came out later, so we might need to give it another 6-12 months or so before it ends up in a tier under $3. I can't remember if Bundlestars had DOTT RM in any bundles, but I think it's a safe one to wait on these games, especially if you have a mega-backlog like I do. Typically once a game ends up in a HB, it gets repeated a few times per year. HB is VERY VERY VERY repetitious in which games they bundle.

EDIT: It looks like locking in the BTA still works, although so far it doesn't seem to be moving. I keep wondering if IGN buying HB will cause any noticeable changes (besides the 19 day expiration time).

Abzu was also in the Humble Oceans Day Bundle back in July.

IndieGala and some of the others are even worse - dupes seem unavoidable anymore.

Its almost surely to coincide with Day of the Devs on 11-11 in SF.

Yes, I remember that. IIRC, it was $30 and originally included Abzu and a few good games. Those went OOS and were removed from the bundle, but there weren't enough titles I wanted/didn't have to justify $30 without the removed games.

IG's main problem is they bundle mostly indie garbage shovelware, i.e. the type of games that look like a teenager wrote it in his parent's basement. Some indie games are great (Super Meat Boy, Fez, and Braid are the favorite examples), but most aren't. I just looked at their latest Monday Motivation Bundle... not a single game I'd want. I buy 1 bundle from them every couple months. BS has better bundles, but even they had a garbage bundle with Mega Pick & Mix (which expired yesterday). Yes, there are lots of repeats everywhere. At least HB's games are of somewhat better quality. IG has become a garbage dealer to me, and if they keep giving garbage bundles I might stop checking there.

Are you saying in 19 days when this bundle ends, there's a good chance there will be a new Saturday November 11th Humble Bundle? I'll put it on my calendar.

no I'm saying this is a special bundle. In the past I think they had an extra bundle to coincide with DotD but this time they just extended it so that on DotD weekend the bundle will still be available.

I dont think this means the rules have changed.

Agreed, but I have gotten in on many group buy deals with someone who hosts them. The bundles work out to about $1 or less usually, and I have found some decent games in there. Of course, there is a bunch of crap too, but for around a buck, it doesn't seem too bad.
