Bought this last month, I'm an international student and this is my first LEGO. It's beyond my expectations, so much fun and addictive. I opened the box before I went to bed, and just wanted to have a glance at what's inside. When I realized I'm exhausted it's already 7 am next morning... slept for 6 hours and used another few hours to finish it. I did literally nothing except working on it since I opened the box. In total it took me exactly 10 hrs to assemble, but one of my best 10 hours lifetime.

Does "frustration free" mean it comes pre-assembled?

Great find!

This is the normal price. This is a hot deal because it has only been available for about 3-4 days since July. There has been quite a bit of markup if you did not buy it on those days before it sold out.

FYI I ordered this last month with the "Frustration free packaging". My set came in a lego cardboard box with the Lego retail box inside. AKA ITS JUST FINE.

I believe "frustration free packaging" means amazon takes the box straight from lego and sends to the customer and does not have to put it in an amazon box.

Thanks OP. I'd been eyeing this set for a while but had wanted to get it from Amazon since Discover has 5% CB there this quarter.

Saw one of these assembled on someone's desk at work a few weeks ago, looked pretty amazing. If I had an actual office or a nerdcave at home I'd be all over this. Frown

FYI: You can get up to 30% off. Do an Amazon reload using your Discover card (5% CB or 10% if it is your first year) then pay with Amex for the 20% off (use 1 point) and your reload balance.

Ooh, neat. Unfortunately, my Amex doesn't qualify for that promo, apparently.
