I bought the LG Electronics OLED65B7A from the same eBay seller last Friday. I'll give a review of the white glove delivery when delivered (hopefully in the next day or so).

FWIW it's an excellent TV, good price too, but unless you simply MUST have this specific frame/bezel/stand I'd suggest most folks save $400 and get the B7A instead, which has the exact same actual display panel and processor- and put the $400 saved toward a real surround sound system rather than a built-in soundbar.

E7 supports Dolby Atmos. Does it mean Atmos speakers can be connect directly without any 3rd party receivers such as Onkyo?

Nope.

What would you connect them to?

The TV doesn't have line level outputs.

It only outputs sound via optical (which can't do advanced audio formats anyway), and HDMI/ARC- which only outputs ATMOS from internal WebOS apps, and would need to go into a receiver with HDMI inputs and speaker outputs, or a a soundbar with an HDMI input.

Which is exactly the same thing the B7A can do.

The only functional difference between the B7A and the other models is this:

The B7A can't play ATMOS through it's built into the TV speakers.

The other 2017 models can.

But nobody who really cares about something like ATMOS likely wants to use built-in TV speakers anyway.

The only benefit for the E7 over the B7 is if you just want to set it up and use the better sound from the included soundbar. However, I don't think the soundbar is worth the extra 400 dollar price difference if you are willing to get a proper receiver and speaker system since the panel is identical in the two models.

Basically, if you want to Get the best picture and have decent sound out of the box, the E7 is much easier setup (open the box, turn it on, good to go). If you want the best panel and also want the best sound, save the money and get the B7 from Buydig/BeachCamera call in deal and then invest in a decent receiver / speaker setup.

The same seller also has the C7 for 2399 - I've been wanting this model, it seems like only the B7 has been going on sale recently and I prefer the C7 stand, and don't want the chrome bevel

There's also the panel on glass that the E7 has. There has been some reviews indicating the panel on glass gives it strength for better screen uniformity. Take that for what it's worth but it definitely looks better (subjective) than the b7/c7...

Also atmos soundbar but it doesn't have the sound of a real sound bar. Would work for bedroom TV tho.

I am only making an educated guess here because I own the 2016 65E6P model. The E6P will not output a Dolby Atmos signal via the TV's HDMI ARC return channel to a receiver. It only supports up to Dolby Digital 5.1. So I cannot use the TV's internal apps (Vudu, Netflix) that support Dolby Vision HDR to also output a Dolby Atmos signal to a receiver. Maybe only the E7 will output Atmos via HDMI, but the B7 will not. So you'd need an external device like a Roku that supports both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos to achieve these two features together.

On a side note, and I hope this helps others out, there is no streaming device that supports both DV and Atmos currently to my knowledge. I have the Apple TV 4K which supports DV and Dolby Digital 7.1, but not Atmos. I have the NVidia Shield that supports HDR 10 and Atmos/DTS-X, but not DV. I was hoping this last Roku announcement was going to be about a device that could handle both, but it was just a marketing ploy to get people to buy their current devices.

Dolby Vision does look better than HDR10 on the E6P in most cases. Planet Earth II on 4K Blu-ray Disc may be the biggest exception. The E6P only supports Dolby Vision at 30FPS, however. Side-to-side panning is blurrier with streaming than with discs.

Also, as many of you may have heard, the AppleTV 4K only outputs a fixed resolution. So my TV always tells me I am getting a Dolby Vision 30FPS signal/source, even when I'm only watching a 480i source. The Shield is much better in that regard.

So, AppleTV 4K needs to add Atmos support and change video output to be variable. Shield needs to add Dolby Vision. And LG needs to add Atmos and DV 60FPS to the E6P.

Any questions? LMAO

E7 has "Picture on glass", which is misleading.
Basically, it's the same OLED panel on a glass back, vs the B7/C7 which have a metal back covered with plastic. The actual screen is exactly the same.

Here's a thread on AVS Forum discussing the E6 (same thing last year):

Nope.

All 2017s output ATMOS via HDMI/ARC from internal apps.

None of the 2016 models do.
