Roamio ota is the only one without a subscription. So if you have cable you pay. But it's much cheaper than renting the cable companies lousy DVR. An you don't pay for the guide. Then if you have a box for two TV's you pay more to the cable company. Not with TiVo. Just get a mini for one time cost.

You can buy the Vox remote for $40 and the ad seems to say you'll get the same experience with an existing Bolt.

Exactamundo x 2!!

Current Bolts will be getting the Hydra OS update that will enable voice control in the near future.

So not really a reason to get the new Bolt Vox unless one really wants black & the redesigned remote.

This seems like a good deal but I am switching away from cable. Just bought an antenna. I don't like the $150 annual subscription. But the TiVo OTA is hella expensive. Have there been discounts for the all in pass in the past?

Just search this forum. Many deals, especially for past TiVo owners.

Free? Seems you're underestimating the TiVo experience here.

Best deal I ever saw was the refurbished roamio basic with lifetime for $299 total.

The best deal I found was the recent one for $99 but you had to have an older TiVo. If I saw that deal, I would have bought the cheapest one I could find on Craigslist / eBay. I didn't see any sales for existing Bolt owners. I guess for me, it makes sense to wait for a deal on the OTA.

CLICK HERE, for link to said deal. I got that and have no regrets. HD DVR rental is $20/month with Comcast, so payback was 15 months. Keep in mind that you can add as many TiVo minis as you have tuners and use the same subscription.

I doubt you will ever see free Tivo subscription.

I'm referring to the Roamio OTA making more sense for me since I'm cutting th cord and don't want to keep paying TiVo the monthly fees.

So my plan is to get this and the new Vox Mini; use the Voice remote on the Bolt in our main living room and the regular Tivo remote on the Mini.
