It's obviously easily shuckable. What drive is inside? Anything with 32 cache, 7200rpm and 7.5mm z-height?

Bought one. Thanks, OP. I was about to pull the trigger for a WD 1TB Passport on Amazon for $58 because my 6-year-old Toshiba portable is acting up. Just about the right timing!

How do you know it's openable? I was hoping for a lower speed drive for tivo bolt purpose.

is it really "shuckable" or easy to remove from its casing? arent WD external harddrives encrypted and the USB port is SOLDERED directly onto the drive itself?
