Ten dollars for a 120GB SSD? Bullshit

Lowest ever according to the 3Cs is $37.99. Decent deal for someone in the market but I wouldn't jump on this otherwise. Grabbed two to use as R/W cache drives in my NAS.

Find us a reputable brand at the same price from a major distributor.

I guess it was more the shock factor? I have not been watching SSD prices and I have a stack of 120 SSD's that I don't use - because they are too small. Those only cost $10 each and that was 2+ years ago.

Clearly, I am spoiled by SD's and please no time-machine jokes.

Looking to fix up my dad's 2012 Mac Mini on the cheap.
I was thinking putting 8gb Ram from Ebay (about $40) and was looking for a suitable SSD. Would this work?

Answering my own question. According to the amazon Q/A yes this is perfect.

The drive should fit (2.5), opening up a Mac Mini is pretty complex though as I understand it.

I don't see why not. It'll definitely be a speed improvement. But you won't have a lot of drive space. I always recommend a small ssd for boot up speed and a large regular hard drive for secondary. That's if your machine has space....

At $10 that long ago it's likely eBay garbage such as KingFast, I wouldn't trust my files on it without some form of always on backup.

120gb is not too small. not at all. I have a 120gb m.2 drive and a 50gb hdd on my gaming laptop. works perfect with all my needs. the machine still has 25 GB left on the main drive after installing the games i usually play.
