seems every cord ( including the OEM Apple) gives me problems in way or another after 6 months or so & 95% of my charging is at night or on my desk, i always unplug when talking on the phone. its not like i abuse these cords.
At $4 if i get 6 months or more I'll be happy.

If you are having that many problems, try a real MFi cable. Cheapest is Dynex from Bestbuy time by time for $2. Cable is a bit stiff but works.

I only have one non-MFi and it's working fine gor over two years.

Be careful with these. That light can cause overheating.

I bought one of these ~ 7 months ago and have never once noticed it was warm to the touch, let alone overheating.
It was great to have the led for the nightstand/overnight charging since it does charge slower, but just a couple weeks ago it started to fail for me. There's no fraying or break in the cable but it only works if it's sitting at a very exact angle so It has been retired.

Monoprice Luxe series cables hand down. Lifetime guarantee. Woven sheath. Led on end that goes orange went charging and green when not. Will set you back a bit more but when you don't have to keep replacing them, suddenly 3x the price is a steal. Anker makes great ones too but aren't lifetime coverage. 6ft for $14.75 shipped through Amazon. Or you can wait for Monoprice sales and coupons but shipping usually negates the savings.

Just providing our experience.. the Dynex cords have all been a waste. Yes, $2 is cheap if you're lucky to get a month out of it, but why keep replacing them if avoidable

I have a dynex that I use in my car that I use daily for my work commute. That thing gets banged around and caught under my seat, but still works perfect. My Anker one did not last and had no visible damage, but was past their 18 month window (I only used it in my car for 3 months).

I bought 7 lighting cables from Best Buy's two years ago and they're still working perfectly.. You're better off buying a 5 foot USB extension
