Ordered. Add one to cart and the second pops up automatically. Free shipping code is JUICY149. A good amount of youtube video showing this reel being used on big fish. I'm thinking it should be a good reel for salmon fishing.

Damn. Wish the bogo worked on the smaller sizes too. Tried the 3000...no luck.

Does it have to be the 5000? I tried to add the 3000 and the other one didn't show in my cars

5000 is the only offer for BOGO. I believe the others will be eligible for a GC up to 20%.

I have this and a quantum smoke, just set them up last weekend and set the drag with a scale. The quantum smoke is a much smoother drag, but $25 more at neuse shop. This is a nice reel for this price though.

Would this work good for fishing from the shore in Florida?

A spool of string will work from the shore, but this with a solid rod and you can bring in almost anything.

Just ordered 2. Gonna sell one for $100, that way I have one for $50 out of pocket. Good deal. Gonna toss this on my 7ft MH rod, that way I'll have 4 rigs ready to go slay 'em out here in the Tampa Bay area.

I guess, a 5000 series seems like overkill for inshore species.I use a Quantum Smoke Inshore 3000 and just got a Daiwa BG 2500 for my birthday yesterday. I target speckled trout, redfish, flounder, spanish mackerel, bluefish, etc.

I would not buy a Penn without live liner, hard to use since no anti reverse switch

That depends on the size and species of shark, and depth of water immediately adjacent to the shoreline
