Logged into my American Express account today, and saw an offer to get a $60 statement for spending $300 or more. I have a regular Blue card. YMMV

Expires 11/16/2017

Enrollment limited. Offer valid online only at lenovo.com. Valid only on US website. Includes purchases via merchant mobile app. Excludes the Lenovo Outlet Store. See merchant website for shipping policy. Some merchants may not ship to all areas. Offer is non-transferable. Must add offer to Card and use same Card to redeem. Limit 1 statement credit(s) per American Express® online account. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 11/16/2017, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you may not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer.

Pretty interesting, I was looking at this Flex 5 for $500, seems like there's a code OCTDEAL4 which takes off another $30 ($100, but it invalidates the current $70), which then after the AMEX $60 off leaves the final price at $410. The 'bates website gives another 3% for $14 off (calculated on the $470 not $410 since the AMEX offer is after checkout) giving you a final price of $396, which is pretty good considering I love 2-in-1 laptops.

Then again, that $104 savings will probably go into an SSD + 4GB more RAM (Optimistic for Black Friday!), since Windows 10 and a browser alone will probably eat up the existing 4GB. Haven't really looked into laptops recently though, not sure how slick it is, but doing a quick amazon search for laptops shows you'd pay about $600 for the same.

I like the flex 5 except for that i3 processor. Everything else seems a little overpriced even after discount

Good question - You can check the offer link on your amex profile for T&C but my guess is no, it will not work. Let me know if you find out differently please!

I placed an order on 11/11, five days before the expiration. But Lenovo did not ship, so they did not charge my card, yet. Might ship today.

Now I'm learning that I probably will not get the $60 because Lenovo did not ship soon enough to comply with its own terms.

Can anyone confirm one way or another if these Amex offers are issued when the order is placed (and communicated to Amex) before the expiration date but the card isn't charged until after the expiration date?
