it's 1200ish last month new on ebay (grey market). I'd prefer that with third party warranty

B&H needs to add a shutter count to their Refurbished products.

It cuts both ways: this is a Nikon refurb with 90 day warranty and if a problem after that, they will repair vs grey market where they will deny if not on their latest list. There are a few repair facilities that will repair grey, but they certainly don't advertise (hint: Atlanta and Sacramento).

The other way to buy grey is to use eBay and buy the SquareTrade warranty on eBay as they have some sort of relationship on eBay. I called QT to confirm.

Outstanding camera.

These aren't refurbished by B&H. These are refurbished by Nikon and B&H gets them sealed in a refurb white box. In order for them to know the shutter count it would entail them opening each one.

Anyways, for the most part the shutter count on the Nikon refurbs are very low in relation to how many shots the camera can support through it's lifetime. I have a couple of their refurb SLR's and if not for the white box I would have thought they were new.
