How is the TFT panel on this thing? Also what does Newegg mean when they say "Glare Screen - No"? Is that glossy or glare-free?

How long until we're getting 24-30in glossy-type 4k/OLED/144hz/1ms/FreeSync monitors for under $500? Does such a monitor even exist at any price?

Good rez and price, not great size or screen (not a TN fan).

But I like the trend, keep bringing the 4K prices down.

There's an AOC 32" 4K monitor that uses an LG IPS panel that is pretty nice actually, but those are $400 when they're on sale.

edit - oh I just read this 28" one does not have any VESA mount option. That is an unforgivable oversight in 2017.

Let us know when 32inch 4k is under 270 bucks. That's what I'm waiting for. Don't know why 27 inch and 32 inch are such different price..

Lambo, I would suspect that'll be some time, especially on the OLED front. To your question, I don't believe a monitor exists with that combination of features, at any price. Also, 4k @ 144hz is a combination which I believe exists on one or two monitors from ROG and Acer, and those guys are $1000+ monitors without OLED. I think the problem with OLED is that there's only a handful of companies producing OLED panels (is it more than just LG, Samsung, and Sony?), so the prices for those panels are a bit redonk.

Hahaha I did this exact same thing, exact same monitor. Altho it needs to have VESA which this one doesnt appear to have. However my BenQQ is IPS vs TN. Also at 27/28in i hear 1440 is a sweet spot compared to 4k anyway. 32in+ for 4k i hear is best.

Why are there so many freesync monitors on the market now? Is Gsync not a thing any more?

Whew, makes me feel better. I had to have VESA as well. Thank you for making me feel better.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to stop the stupid BenQ from defaulting to the internal speaker every time it turns on.

From Wikipedia:

FreeSync is royalty-free, free to use, and has no performance penalty

G-Sync is a proprietary adaptive sync technology developed by Nvidia - i.e., not free

Nobody seems to want to pay the license fee is my guess. Also maybe more strict.
