Stardew Valley for Nintendo Switch $7.88 on Nintendo eShop

Game information [nintendo.com]

The game is $14.99 on the US eShop, but if you change your region to Mexico you can get it for ~ $7.88.

You can access the Mexican eShop by changing your region on https://accounts.nintendo.com/ to Mexico. OR you can create a new Nintendo account and set the region to Mexico. If you change your existing account and have a balance you will lose that balance if you change regions. That's why I prefer to create new accounts for different regions.

To create a new account and access the Mexican eShop:
1. Go to https://accounts.nintendo.com/ and click Create a new account
2. Complete the infromation and make sure you choose Mexico for your region
3. On your Switch go to System settings and under Users click Add User and enter the email you signed up with
4. When you go to the eShop on your Switch choose the user associated with Mexico

I was able to pay with a US credit card, but you may want to make sure you're using a credit card that doesn't charge foreign transaction fees.

Sounds like a good way to get your account locked.

Uhh no.

The Nintendo Switch is region free. I have four different accounts set up for different regions to find the best price on games.

What's the limit on the number of accounts on Switch. I already have 4 family accounts and a JP and UK account. I'm not opposed to creating a Mexican account. Also, can I use my regular credit card?

I know integrity is not really a thing many slickdealers care about, but the publishers intentionally [reddit.com] set this to be fair price for the market, because they're trying to have faith in humanity.

You can have up to eight accounts. I was able to use my US credit card. You may want to use a card without a foreign transaction fee because this *might* count as a foreign transaction.

If companies can take advantage of a global marketplace, why can't consumers?

I highly recommend especially if you enjoy games like animal crossing, harvest moon, or even minecraft. It's a good relaxing game. I just purchased Moonhunters in the Denmark store because it cost $1.30 vs $14.99 in the US store.

Keep in mind that adding accounts with different regions will fill your news feed with all different languages. Some might not care, but it drove me crazy. And deleting the accounts won't get it off. You need to completely reset the system.

I noticed the same after adding a Japanese account to my console so I could try out the Monster Hunter X and Sonic Forces demos. On another note anyone tried removing the account from the profile and running another account from it? Case in point I have my main Nintendo account I use and then I have accounts for each of my four kids. I logged into the Japanese account I made through one of my kids local profiles. I assume I can logout of the account. I'm guessing that doing so would remove access to any paid games, but free games? Anyone know what restrictions happen after removing the Nintendo account from a foreign profile as far as paid games and demos?

Honestly, don't do this. The game is not made by some scumbag operation like EA, trying to shovel microtransactions and pre-order "bonuses" down your throat, this was done completely by one guy who had a passion for Harvest Moon making his first game. You'll get hundreds of hours out of SDV, he has more than earned his $15 for it.

I'm fine with it. It was HIS choice to sell it for that price in Mexico. And companies benefit all the time from a global economy, so consumers should be able to as well. I'm sure the developer is fine. He has already made a fortune from the game.
