Limit 1.

I was at Fry's today and thought about it, but after seeing the long line I decided 1 measly 4' cable for 49c wasn't worth walking to the back of the store and risking the line growing. If you could get 5 or more, then yeah it might be worth the effort.

I just bought 5 in an order and the sale price applied to all of the cables just fine.

You are right. You can actually order up to 10. However, the Fry's promo email says limit 1, so without you saying so I would've never tried to second-guess that Fry's implemented it wrong, but it turns out they did in this case. On backorder for quite a while...

Yup, I've done it before with their cables. I love their cheap cables and they're actually decent quality Smilie.

I've bought many of their cheap cables, and they work for a while, but another family member who loves to plug the cables in and out of tables a dozen times per day, all of the cables start to bend and stop charging the tablet after a while. I've thrown so many cables in the trash. I've said many times leave the cable in the tablet and just plug in the large USB end, but nobody listens to me.

I've had a couple cables get hot at the end and melt, and I lost 1 tablet because something happened that caused the cable end near the tablet to melt and burn the micro USB port into a melted blob. I don't know which cable brand it was, but virtually all of my cables came from Fry's. It worries me that a bad cable can fry a tablet.

I know that that's always a concern, but there's no guarantee that that is more likely to happen with a third-party cable (from Fry's) than with an OEM cable.

That is true which is why I keep buying the Shaxon and other generic cables. I'm not saying they are badly made. I'm just saying that micro USB cables seem to fail quickly due to family plugging them in and out so often. Amazingly (I say that facetiously) my cables do not have that problem because I don't plug them in and out so often and I look first to insert them the right way rather than blindly jamming the cables in, but then it's very common for the person who pays for stuff to care more about not wrecking stuff than the people who don't pay for stuff.

I can live with a failing cable because it just goes into the trash, but on those rare occasions when they get hot and melt or wreck my tablet, then it makes me upset. I still don't know what causes the cables to melt when that happens.
