Great deal! Last deal was $900/pair, unfortunately I had to sell mine CL and bought Heresy III instead.

Couldn't get enough of the shrill treble eh? Klipsch is the way to go for ear shattering obnoxious treble, that's for sure. Not pleasant sounding in the slightest.

Don't be ridiculous! You're Polk hater as well right?

Not worth much but I have some JBL's with this layout (2x8's and a tweeter) from say 15 years ago and they're great.

Like I said, not worth much.

Solid set. I'd personally go for the Infinity Reference 263 but those two speakers do share alot of parts. This is just a surprisingly ugly speaker despite it's great performance.

Can someone advise if this is as good as (if not better) than klipsch RP 280f?

I grabbed these on sale back in September and love them. Clear treble without it being shrill and just the right amount of bass. Many say they're ugly but my usually overly critical mother volunteered how good looking they are.

depends on the room and amplification. you can make klipsch horns sound decent and i'm a guy who likes easy to listen to speakers ala morel, dynaudio, B&W

the thing with klipsch is they require a lot of trouble to actually perform well. try a tube amp, a very well dampened room and experiment with placement. they come to life, especially with vinyl

if you use a receiver and play mp3s they are terrible.

How does the JBL 590 sound compared to Mirage omd-28. Has anyone here listened to both speakers? I have the omd-28 and am thinking about getting the 590's.

Be warned: I bought a pair of these back in August that showed-up with obvious significant damage despite them being on a pallet. I refused delivery and it took me 7 weeks and hours and hours on the phone and emails to get the refund they (Newegg) quickly promised me when I called them about it initially. Most difficult and taxing commercial transaction of my life. I will never again buy from JBL, and Newegg wasn't much help either. (Newegg basically said: if you want a refund from us, you'll have to get us a refund from JBL first (!!!)). That being said I did buy a replacement set (immediately after refusing the first) and the do sound great. But I am for sure done for life buying anything from JBL. Absolutely horrible company to work with.

Love my JBL 590 speakers that I got on this same deal back in April.

I don't like the speakers pointed directly at my listening position. I find it works best to point them at a few feet behind where I sit. That can help with the treble.

A lot of what you hear from any speakers is going to come down to your room acoustics. I just ordered some bass traps from GIK Acoustics. Really looking forward to what they do to improve the sound.
