Word of warning for anyone considering buying this for resale. Don't do it. I did a few months ago, along with a bunch of others, and nobody's been buying any of them on Amazon.

Am happy that I'll end up using it myself! Thanks for the cable recommendations.

Yea, we are in a time where Bluetooth connectivity is the main selling point for speakers and headphones, not sound quality. Sad but that's the way things go.

How does it compare to the bottlehead crack when used for the hd600/650/6XX? I know one is tube and about half the price but I am just wondering

I have crack+speedball and HDVA600 is quite a bit better (for me) when used with unbalanced HD600, and much better when used with same headphones but with balanced connector.

When I say better I mean higher transparency, better transients/detail, deeper bass extension, less veil in treble area.
Crack is no slouch and is my favorite amp at its price point (and double of that as well), but HDVA600 is just better. Hell, I prefer it to Auralic Taurus, and that is something. Big Grin

One thing to mention: Crack consumes about 45W, HDVA600 about 5W. Makes quite some difference in summer.

This is one hell of a deal. Just don't try to use it with low-impedance headphones.

Your last comment about not using with low impedance headphones? Why? I plan to use with LCD-2 and Focal Elear.
