It is a great laptop. I bought one a couple of weeks ago under another rebate. Employee discount coupons stack if you have someone close to you who works at Dell, otherwise it would be a little steep in price for me.

Mine was the exact same but with 16GB of ram and 512GB SSD, after extra discounts, bonus rewards and rebates I paid just over $1,100 which is 2X more that I had ever paid for a laptop before but would do it again without a 2nd thought.

The only complaint I would have is if you travel in airports a lot like I do, it is a little heavy with the 4K glossy screen, on the otherhand I love the look and clarity of the screen.

One benchmark that may be used as comparison is an FP deal from March for this system w/ 16GB RAM/512GB SSD instead for $1,600 (or $1,620 to have it shipped if you don't live near a MicroCenter to pickup): https://slickdeals.net/f/9860380

Alternatively, if in the market for Apple, there's also currently an FP for the i7-equipped MacBook Pro (Late 2016) w/ Touch Bar for $1799: https://slickdeals.net/f/10679980

The Macbook Pro is much less equipped (screen res, ssd, memory, touch screen, fingerprint, etc.) but then its a Mac so you have to expect that.

The Microcenter deal is still live: http://www.microcenter.com/produc...r_-_silver

I bought the MC one but brought it back; I needed 1TB. This deal at $1800 is a solid deal. It's pricey, but then if you need/want the fastest SSD (Samsung PM961), large fast DRAM, decent current gen graphics, large color accurate 4k touchscreen and huge battery in a high build quality 4lb package this is about the best one.

If you live near a Microcenter, they have these open box. Cambridge, MA has the OP 1TB config for $1700 OB.

You can spend a lot less money if those things don't matter to you.

Does anyone know if this rebate requires the barcode label as the rebate form suggests? seems other directions on SD don't mention it and I'd like to go ahead and mail this off.

EDIT: nvm, looks like some do and some don't but this one happens to require the UPC.

Hi,

This rebate does not require UPC cutout. Please submit only documents listed under #4 on the rebate form, which are your Signed rebate form and Dell Invoice (w/ trace SKU 466-8330 listed).

High-end specs featuring a GTX 1050 for $1800? I wouldn't even buy it for that price if it came with a GTX 1070.
