These are supposed to be good for monitors (close viewing) because they use IPS panels.

Its sad that Vizio has dropped built in Tuners. I use OTA along with streaming and means I would need to buy a tuner along with a TV.

I'd be more tempted if a bunch of sales on TVs weren't going to happen in a month. If it were new, I'd bite.
It's a solid tv with a 120hz refresh rate, absolutely necessary for sports. Here's a review, and note that the 55" has an IPS display, which is different from their other sizes for this model.

55: Size

E: generation, where D=2016, E=2017

The only difference I've seen from reviews is that the 2016 had some android tablet for a remote, whereas the 2017 has a normal remote.
