I guess I'll ask the obvious question.....why is this basically B1G1 free? I mean, that seems like a REALLY good deal.

I'm not here to promote any brands. But to possibly answer your question I have to share what happened to me two weeks ago.

My Kenmore washer broke down. And a service tech came out and said that the part which burned out was no longer available since the machine is 8 years old. When I asked the tech which machine I should buy he told me any machine except for Samsung. He said Samsung likes to add fancy buttons and features to their machines but he said the overall build quality sucks.

I have ordered these to replace 10 years old lg washer dryer.
Price and costco s 2+2 years warranty are the reason for making this purchase.

I appreciate a genuine feedback from Samsung washer dryer users.

I hear the horror stories about samsung (washers/dryers/fridges) the deal seems great though. Since the washer is going for like $1k alone. Plus 2 yr manufacturer and 3 yr squatrade I guess ill take the risk. Cost me $1494 with 3 yr squaretrade warranty ($169 for both together) + $25 off coupon. Will have to cross my fingers

My 5 year old Samsung dryer died today. I was really disappointed after searching the model number online to discover hundreds of owners with the same issue. I actually bought a 5 years extended warranty for $300 which went unused. Two months expired ... it died. Almost on queue. Won't buy again. My 20+ Whirlpool was doing fine the day I gave it away 5 years ago to get the "pretty Samasung"

I've had my Samsung set for over 5 years and my dryer died shortly after the warranty expired. No repair man wanted to fix it because it's stacked in a closet. We were able to extend the warranty through Lowes for another 3 years and finally got someone to look at it under warranty. Turns out the dryer shorted because of frequent heavy loads. The repair man fixed it in less than 30 minutes and advised not to put heavy loads in. He said it put too much stress on the machine to tumble it. The repair did not cost anything under warranty.

Based on my experience, I love the set and will take his advice to heart. The broken dryer was a big inconvenience but after hearing what others have said I think it's best to make sure there's a warranty, especially around the five year mark.

I'm in escrow and the buyers want the old set, and I'm looking for a new set for the new house. I'm going to bite and get this, the price is too good to resist with the included white glove delivery and 2 year warranty. Black Friday will probably have similar deals but I don't want to be hanging out at the laundry mat until then.

I know the 5.2cu ft set is going on sale at retailers for 550 and 600 for white and black respectively. I want this set, but no Costco near me, unfortunately.

I think you need a new service tech. I have been fixing a few 20+ year old Kenmore's (whirlpool) and you can get any part, and they are dirt cheap since the machines are so basic.

I've heard the samsung's got a bad rep because the washers have to be perfectly level or you get issues. Other than that... the reviews seem ok. For this price though, it's a pretty sweet deal.
OFcourse everyone else is following. Home depot has it on sale now too.

Shorted out due to heavy load ? Sounds hog wash to me.

I won't buy any Samsung appliance. Had a washer and dryer with a five year warranty. The dryer was repaired under the warranty; took something like a month to get the part with me complaining frequently. The washer died at five years and five months. The estimated cost to repair it was $650, about what it cost new. We also had the misfortune to purchase a Samsung refrigerator, again with a five year warranty. At two years old, it took the repairman eight visits, two months, to attempt to stop the water dispenser from randomly pouring water onto my floor. The warranty company eventually gave up and replaced it. The replacement had issues as well, didn't keep things cool and made very little ice. Just replaced it last month with an LG from Costco. Costco offers a two year warranty on all appliances and to extend it to five years was only $100 through their Square Trade program.
