First post - did not see this posted. Successfully price matched mine with BBY this morning for convenience of in-store return if the need arises.

Regularly $599.99 - $250 = $349.99 with Free Shipping

Just FYI for those wondering, the STR-DN1080 is the newer version of this. Just that Sony added DTS X and ATMOS to the newer version. In addition, the receiver also enables users to simulate a 7.1.2ch speaker configuration with only five surrounds using Sony's "Phantom Surround Back" tech. The unit also includes Sony's DCAC EX calibration routine.

True although rating for 1070's sound is higher than 1080 from few websites

BBY sales tax kills the pricematching deal unless you have BBY rewards burning a hole in your pocket.

But I've done a quick check and this might be the lowest price this unit has ever been.
Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong?

Will any of the modern features of this deck allow the front digital display show artist & title as each song plays on FM radio as a car radio display will do?

And lack of Atmos on the 1070 is a deal-breaker for many, myself included.

Do Sony receivers kick out a lot of heat? I'm spoiled by my Harman Kardon which barely even gets warm.

Stupid question....will these 7.x receivers work ok if only 5.1 speakers are connected? Or am I better off with just a 5.1 receiver?

You can use these just as you could a 5.1 receiver. You don't have to use all 7 channels or have two subwoofers. With that said, you're paying for the parts cost in the price, so unless you're getting a screaming deal that a 5.1 isn't beating, you're paying more for no reason. Also, I would advise having more than one sub (not necessarily for output but for smoother bass).
