Not a Apple hater, but it's been at this price for weeks.

2k for a single, older proc, ddr3 ram, and a goofy looking case for a "pro" version? I built a much better system for 1300 with 32gigs, 8gb rx580, 500gb ssd, and 2x4 terabyte spinners. But yes, it runs Windows

Not sure if this is a good deal but your build and comment is completely irrelevant

FYI Apple no longer makes the hard drive sticks, so it's aftermarket only, which starts at $800 for a 1TB stick or ebay.

This is a 2013 model. Not bad for 2013 on the low end, but today it's pretty pokey. The new gen i7 8700k from Intel gets a passmark of around 16k, this gets around 9.5k, so it's about 2/3 the speed of the current gen $400 (if you can get it) Intel i7 chip.

Aside from the basic (for today) CPU, the GPU in this is nothing special (dual D300s), and the connectivity is admittedly pretty great (4xUSB3, 6xTB2) if you need Thunderbolt 2. That said, those standards have aged considerably too....

Apple badly needs a refresh of this. The price is nuts unless for some reason you must have exactly *a Mac Pro* (for example, if you must use a non-27" Retina display, or you upgrade displays a lot), else IMHO the current iMac (or the 2015 iMac) is a vastly better deal.

This revision of the Mac Pro is a real dud compared to 2012 and older models. There's extremely limited upgradeability, so you're stuck in 2013. It's not particularly fast. It's a clunker.

New ones should be out next year, and hopefully Apple will realize that the "pro" market doesn't want a headless iMac.
