Of course, the notion of a $100 battery pack is somewhat questionable value in the first place.

They go for $50 when Fry's puts them in their promo emails, which isn't too bad, considering the cost of a charging puck cable (~$30) and battery pack ($18 Anker Astro E1 6700mAh) separately.

In that case you'd only be paying $2 for convenience.

There were some integrated third-party chargers similar to the Belkin, but they've disappeared from the market.

I'm not an Apple hater, but their MFi program for the Watch is dismal compared to the rest of the devices, and the license fees/component costs probably don't help the cause.

So the market is left with $99 MFi chargers like the Belkin and Elevation BatteryPro (8000mAh) that most people will skip just because of the cost. At least the latter has more capacity.

Definitely a better deal to buy a cable and separate bank... would come in easily at half this price.
