Conceptually these seem to make sense, problem is that the last time we had a power outage, while the modem remained online, the ISP's equipment did not. So it is very YMMV if this will help you or not during a general power outage.

Interestingly cellphone towers almost always seem to continue to work during outages. So I'd look to that if you want to remain online when the power goes out.

Nice, no tax. Amazon has the same price, but charges me $3.50 in tax (CA).

Note that the actual battery is in that removable/portable battery pack. If you remove it to charge your phone while traveling, the unit left behind is just a glorified power strip with no UPS capabilities.

DC converter to a car battery would be better... if your power is out and cannot power a little consumer router then you probably have other issues. My backup for short time in this unlikely event would be my smartphone,12 volt car charger and the wifi hotspot feature.

Yeah looks good for routers. Would be good if you use laptops and tablets only.
