Nice deal!! Perfect if you have nothing and just need a basic setup.

Remember though, Rainbird uses rotary sprinklers (they make the ss-ss-ss noise/comes out in spurts as it turns) Hunter is silent/just water noise. Not that it really makes that big of a deal, just providing info!

Yeah I ordered one for next spring. I put down grass seed about 2 weeks ago so I don't want to start digging and walking around trying to install it now. But I figured it would be nice way to start off the spring come next year Smilie I'm not sure about any of these automatic in-ground sprinklers, but I figured what da heck...it's got great reviews and I saw some videos that make it look like a perfect DIY project.

I installed this kit about 2 months ago. Although the instructions say you can take a flat blade to dig, unless you have really good soil you'll end up trenching everything about 6 in deep. If you're going under a sidewalk it's not going to be fun. I used a pressure washer alternating with hammering a spud bar to finally break through the gravel underneath. All in all a great value, just be prepared for more work than the instructions might make it seem...

I installed two of these a couple of months ago. This is a great kit to start for this price. Some of my observations:

- Digging trenches is not fun at all and takes most of the time. I considered hiring help for just the digging part of the install.
- Each single kit is basically a zone. I bought two of these (1 for front and 1 for back) and hooked them up to a multizone timer.
- I noticed the plastic connectors on for the spigot were leaking already. Not sure how long they'll last.

All in all, a great kit to start with. But once you figure out the mechanics, you can probably build a better diy solution for not that much more.

um the kit states:
Kit consists of: 125-ft of distribution tubing, fittings, 6 professional grade high-efficiency 32SA pop-up rotary sprinklers and a durable, automatic 1ZEHTMR hose-end timer.

i think you are thinking of the impulse type sprinkler noise

Yes, the Rainbirds make that noise. I took out all my Rainbirds for Hunters so you wouldn't get the spitting ones. I didn't think Rainbird made the regular streaming ones?

Rainbow makes a variety of sprinklers. I have the 52sa which I believe is rotary like this. It sprays smoothly while rotating, not impulse making that sound.

Has anyone priced this kit individually? I have a four zone controller so debating which is cheaper buying three and reselling the timers or rolling my own. Likely the latter but still a hell of a deal. Sending to a few neighbors.

I need to get something like this. My last house I had just the sprinkler heads in the ground and moved the hose to each one that worked out well but this yard is different where I want to bury lines so I don't have to move the hose around.
