which parts of the terms say we can wait up to one year before activate the plan?
Don't know if its in the ToS but this is from Red Pocket's official Slickdeals customer service rep

What's the cheapest Verizon phone you could use with red pocket? For a teenager, emergency only.
Not sure about phone but this plan would be better for pure emergencies

Can you activate this on an existing active red pocket account?

No app, this is actual cellular service, not VoIP like Freedom Pop.

500mb of data is rather useless (and at lte speeds isn't that like less than a minute of usage?)

and what happens when you go over? No more internet?

When you use up your data or minutes you can add more. $2 for 100 more minutes or $5 for 500 more MB of data

500 mb of data is good enough for using Navigation GPS and checking your email and looking up things online. Just stay away from YouTube or any music streaming over LTE and you will not run out of data. Use Google Voice to make calls over LTE to conserve your voice minutes. Use Google Voice as your main number that you give out to freinds and that is where you get your texts.

But 80% of people will not be the target audience for a plan like this. This is a barebones, minimalist plan.

I am on the $60 per year plan that is 100 minutes, 100 texts and 500 mb of data. Since I am almost always connected to WiFi and using Google Voice for calls on WiFi I have been able to not run over my limits.

A plan this small is not recommended for teenagers. They consume more minutes and data than ANYBODY else in the world. You would need an unlimited plan such as MintSim (Tmobile)

If you want emergency only you can try FreedomPop but it runs on GSM only.

I have a Moto E4 that I currently use TextNow on. That gets me a free phone number for calls and texts when on WiFi. Would this be something I could use with this phone and my TextNow # during the rare times I am without WiFi?

Also wanting to confirm this won't work with Virgin Mobile... It's not listed in the OP. My mom uses VM but I hate seeing her pay for monthly service that is far more than she needs.

This is great price. Though my current Red Pocket expires next June. I'd forget about this by then. I'll look for this when it gets closer.

Got this same plan last Black Friday. Service is good though MMS setup was a PITA. Waiting for BF to see if they discount one of their newly upgraded deals.
