It's a decent deal. The screen isn't 1080p though, which makes a difference if you plan to do a lot of Office work on it.

Seemed like a great deal until I got to the resolution. This kills the deal.

Very hard to find 1080p under $300.

768, just not worth it though, especially in a 15 incher. i'd rather spend the $350 off amazon and add a 8gb ram stick later.

I have an earlier model.

Very good performance and durable construction. This is an excellent price for the specs. This laptop is a great beater laptop, I recommend it as a secondary laptop (only because of the screen resolution) that you can take anywhere without too much worry of losing or breaking it.

Upgrade to 8 gb RAM and SSD HDD for fantastic performance.

The biggest con is the resolution. 1366x768 just sucks for certain applications. That said you mostly get used to it after a while.

This notebook by Acer would make a great upgrade notebook computer; it has the ability to take DDR4 memory up to 16Gb from crucial for about $169 with a Crucial 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 SODIMM CT10595772 DDR4 PC4-19200 • CL=17 • 1.2V; one can also upgrade to 1Tb SSD drive with a also from crucial for about $289 with a Crucial MX300 1TB SATA 2.5" 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD CT10595775 • SATA 6.0Gb/s • 530 MB/s Read, 510 MB/s Write; both upgrades together total $458 plus $280 for the cost of notebook itself equals $738; once upgraded with the above noted notebook upgrades to notebook 16Gb DDR4 memory and 1Tb SSD Drive; it will be a very fast and effective notebook indeed.

It's the Nth time I'd love to buy something from MicroCenter and I cannot 'cause I absolutely need the goods to be shipped. What a bummer.

What do you mean? Could you elaborate on that a little?
