Ironically I saw this deal as an ad on Slick deals!

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr...6814202300

The price could go down in 6 months across the board in GPUs as supplies balances out from the mining craze. I always thought this card was worth the $500 asking price it just finally got back to it. I got mine today but remember my price warning and happy buying!

Core Clock 1247 MHz
Boost Clock 1546 MHz

Better than gtx 1080ti
Not for gaming. No idea about mining, but benchmarks don't even beat the 1080, and are like 30% less than the 1080ti

I'm not suggesting that a person buy a Vega for gaming (loud fan and crazy power consumption compared to Nvidia), but it has beaten 1080ti on Forza 7 and maybe some other games. But yes, 1080ti blows it up on average.
Now that Vega is back to it's $500 price point, it should be compared to 1070ti and 1080. It is competitive with them, but ultimately, unless I had FreeSync monitors, I wouldn't deal with the turbo sound that comes from these Radeon blowers.

Especially if I left my home computer mining while not in use. my blower FE 1070 sits at 68-70°c on about 55% fan while mining all day. it doesn't bother anyone in the house, and the computer sits in the living room. Mining while not gaming with this Vega would get my computer's power button pressed every morning when the wife and kids wake up..

1070ti pressure? Supply increase? Or they realize nobody is gonna buy it at 1080ti price?

Mining is bottoming out right now. It may spike or stay in a lull. Who nows.

I been buying ATI and now AMD cards all my life. Doesn't matter if this isn't the fastest. The status of being "best" and "fastest" will never last, there will always be something newer to supersede it. In the end of the day, all that matters is, as long as you enjoy it.
