Kinda sorta true. However it would take forever to do it, up to 10 hours, and it can ONLY do that. These electric pressure cooker can do it in under 45 minutes, and also work as slow cookers, potentially as yogurt makers, etc.. And yeah pressure changes how things cook, how vitamins are retained, and also how potentially harmful bacteria and what-have-you are destroyed, given the higher temperatures achieved under pressure. Food I cook in the pressure cooker is demonstrably and unarguably safer and in some cases healthier than food made in a slow cooker. Buy the fattest model pressure cooker and you can even do pressure canning. When I'm making pulled chicken from 6 month frozen thighs in the freezer I like it to be as safe as possible myself.

Anyone buying a slower cooker in this day and age is a silly bastard, imo. You can put a enameled dutch oven on the stove at the lowest setting and achieve the same thing if you have a decent stove, or your electric pressure cooker, which is a glorious multitasker, can take the place of a lowly slow cooker. Slow cooker is a shitty caveman product compared to the electric pressure cookers we are now spoiled with, if I may be frank.

The only slow cooker I've kept is my vintage Corning Ware slow cooker, because it's kind of a piece of history. It can slow cook, go to oven, freezer, stove, etc.. All the others are gone.

I have it in white. I've used it 3-4 times, and it's been great. Never owned / used InstantPot, so can't compare.

Feel like an idiot buying the Insignia 6quart for $40+tax now, this is alot more fully featured and has two pressure settings..

Oh wait, this is nonstick. Worth it for stainless.
