Sabrent Nano Bluetooth BT-USBX USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter
[frys.com]
$2.99 and Free Shipping with promo code

FYI, this has a Cambridge Silicon Radio chipset and works out of the box with Windows and home built OSX. It has about half the external profile of the Asus variants and I get the same range with audio devices.

I have one, despite changing power settings, won't stay connected to my MS designer mouse. Logitech mouse stays connected but very jerky movements.

it would have been a good deal if it was BT 4.0 or higher. This looks like it's BT 2.1, using very old tech. Sabrent has been hiding it well. There is no info on their site, no reviews, no specs anywhere, not even on newegg. You would think specs providing protocols such as a2dp would help...i dont think this adapter even does that. yikes!

Yes, it is BT 2.1. Don't know if that matters when you use it to connect a headphone.

not just for headphone/keyboard/mouse, but for file transfer speeds between pc and my phone, and mp3's from phone to smartwatch. right click and send to bluetooth device. no need to connect my phone to usb cable or install unnecessary apps. transfer speeds are substantially faster.
